Let me know if you have any suggestions for the site…

Hi
Love the site, it will only get bigger.
Quick question - how much would it be to build a standard home on a standard block of land in brisbane as an avg?
Thanks
Glenn

Thanks for your comment Glen!
Your question is a tough one to answer. A block of land in Brisbane could set you back as little as $160,000 out in the western suburbs (Goodna, etc), but probably more like $300-600,000 in the City and City fringe areas.
from there, what you can build depends on the council’s building regulations and the covenants on the land, plus any development approvals required to build.
For just the build alone, you would be looking at a figure starting from $150,000-$170,000 + from a cut price builder (eg Dixon Homes), on top of the above costs.
To find a builder, try going to some of the new estates that have display villages like springfield lakes, there are plenty to choose from and wildly varying prices.
Good Luck!
